A term that seems to have as may meanings as there are states in the United States. “[A]n organization which nominates candidates for public office.” Tenn. Code §2-1-104(14). Any “group of voters which at the last preceding general election polled for its candidate for Governor in the state or nominees for presiden tial electors at least three percent (3%) of the entire vote cast for the office.” Ark. Code §7-1-101(17)(A). “Any affiliation of voters representing any principle or organization whic h, at the last preceding general election, polled for its candidate for governor at least one per cent of the total number of votes cast for all candidates for that office in the state.” W.
