Definition

Under emergency circumstances an electi on may be postponed. Iowa Admin. Code §721- 21.1(6). The postponement may even take place on ELECTION DAY. However, because of 2 U. S. C. §7, elections for FEDERAL OFFICES may not be postponed by the states.
