The place on a BALLOT where the voter is instructed to ma rk her preference for a candidate or question. N. M. Admin. Code §1.10.12.7(T). Also “voting response field” or VOTING TARGET. Wyo. Sec’y of State Rule 1570, §4(nnn). Voting Rights Act of 1965 A sweeping civil rights statute that eliminated various devices used to bar groups from exercising their right to vote.
