Definition

A crime defined in HAVA. “Any individual who knowingly commits fraud or knowingly makes a false statement with respect to the natu ralization, citizenry, or alien registry of such individual in violation of section 1015 of title 18, United States Code, shall be fined or imprisoned, or both, in accordance with such section.” 42 U. S. C. §15544(b). “Any person who knowingly provides false informati on in order to vote or register to vote … shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.” Ala. Code §17-23-12.
