A county official appointed in large Nebraska counties to supervise elections. Nebraska Stat. §32-207. A local election official in Louisiana. “T he clerk of the district court is ex officio parish custodian of voting machines in each pari sh, except that in any parish having a civil and a criminal district court the clerk of the criminal district court is ex officio parish custodian of voting machines.” La. R. S. §18:1354. Similarly in New York and West Virginia. See also CHIEF DEPUTY ELECTION COMMISSIONER.
